Overview
The project involved redeveloping an existing mixed-use property to provide additional apartments. Two new storeys were added — including habitable space in a mansard roof and a new second floor – while the ground floor commercial unit remained unchanged.
Our Role (Structural Engineering Services)
We delivered full structural engineering support, including:
- Design and detailing of the mansard roof steel frame, supported on existing masonry walls.
- Assessment of existing walls and foundations to ensure capacity for new loads.
- Lateral stability design using robust buttress walls across all elevations.
