The Project
A site redevelopment comprising the demolition of an existing house and building of a new private executive house. The proposed two-storey development included a double garage with a games room directly above it, an external balcony to the rear of the property on the first floor, and a large partial basement taking advantage of the site slope.
Our Role
We provided structural engineering services for tender and construction information consisting of the design and detailing of basement foundations and walls for a challenging site with ground gas characteristic situation 2. We worked closely with a specialist supplier to incorporate compliant ground gas barrier details in our package for foundations.
Several trees were removed from the site we provided foundations in accordance with NHBC 4.2 guidelines. Isolated structural elements were provided to upper floors, roof structure, and external envelope in form of wind posts where required.
